Terms of use

Droove is a place to record the cars you have owned and publish them on one page at an address of your choosing. It is a record, not a marketplace, a valuation service or a registry. Nothing on a Droove page is proof of ownership, condition, history or title.

Signing in is by a link sent to your email address; there is no password to lose. Keep access to that mailbox — anyone who has it has your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has got in.

You must be at least 16 to hold an account. One person, one account.

A handle — the droove.pro/@name part — is allocated to you for as long as you use it. It is not sold and not owned. We may reclaim one that infringes a trade mark, impersonates a person or organisation, is chosen to abuse or mislead, or has sat unused with no cars on it for twelve months. Where we reclaim a handle we will tell you first and give you somewhere to move to, unless the reason is that it is being used to harm somebody.

Your cars, your photographs, your words. You keep every right you have in them. You give us permission to store them, process them as described in the privacy notice, and show them on your page and in the previews that appear when your page is shared. That permission ends when you delete the material or your account.

Only upload photographs you took or have the right to use. Do not upload anything that identifies someone who has not agreed to it, is unlawful, or is somebody else’s to publish.

This is the point of the product and the thing most worth being clear about. A Droove page can be opened by anyone with the address, needs no account to read, and is designed to be found by search engines. Do not put anything on it that you would not put on a public noticeboard.

Number plates are blurred out of photographs before they are stored, and registration numbers are never recorded — see the privacy notice for how that works and what it does not promise.

Performance figures attached to a car come from one of two places. Either they are looked up from Droove’s own reference of published manufacturer and press specifications, or you typed them in yourself. A car carries a note of which, and the two are never mixed.

Reference figures are gathered carefully but are not warranted to be correct, complete or current. Manufacturers quote differently between markets and model years, and figures move with options. Do not rely on anything here for buying, selling, insuring or racing a car.

Do not scrape the site, hammer it with automated requests, try to reach data that is not yours, or pass off a Droove page as somebody else’s. Do not use it to harass anyone or to publish material that is unlawful where you or the reader are.

We may suspend or remove an account that does these things. Where it is reasonable to do so we will say why first.

Droove is provided as it is. It is a young product and there is no promised uptime, no guarantee that a feature will still be here next year, and no guarantee against loss of data. Keep your own copies of photographs that matter to you.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit or opportunity, or for loss of data beyond what restoring from your own copies would cost.

You can delete your account at any time from your settings. Deleting it removes your page, your cars and your photographs. We may close an account that breaches these terms.

These terms will change as the product does. Material changes will be notified by email to the address on the account, and the date at the top of this page always says when it was last revised. Carrying on using the site after a change means accepting it.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not take away rights you have under the law of the country you live in.
